Findmyghar.com was highlighted in the business section of the Times Of India last week. Here is the online version of the article :
Finding your place in the world
It is great to see that people are actually benefiting from the site. However, the article has a few inaccuracies that I would like to address.
Firstly, findmyghar.com is not funded or developed by real estate brokers. Findmyghar.com is developed entirely by me. My name is Navaneeth and I am a software guy by profession. findmyghar.com is currently my hobby and the site was developed during my free time.
Secondly, my vision for findmyghar.com is much more than a being a mere google map mashup. Findmyghar.com is a next generation real estate portal. The map mashup is just a tip of the iceberg.
I also keep getting a few questions via email that might be worth answering here.
Can you build me similar web site ?
No.
Will you sell the site to me ?
No. But if you are willing to share the vision and partner in the effort, then please drop me a line (findmyghar [AT] gmail.com )
When will the site cover Mumbai/Chennai/ my city ?
findmyghar.com is currently self-funded and does not generate any profits. In such a circumstance, it is very difficult for me to invest more on hardware and infrastructure. Once I am successful in obtaining some funding for this effort, you will see more coverage and features being implemented faster.
Do you have a business plan ?
Yes, I am working on it. If you are a serious investor, I'll send it to you.
